The reason why we classify bacteria is that it's important to know what is causing infections and also what grows where so we can keep an eye on our ecosystem.
It's actually important to know there are "good" types of bacteria that we need and "bad" types that cause us problems, because otherwise we'd be trying to wipe out bacteria that actually helps our digestive system.
So there's a couple of reasons why we should classify bacteria.

in many cases: from their shapes, functions, the desease they cause, the process that they grow, or enter the cell,
the temrature that they can stay live, or reprodutions.
the natural place that they live, the tisue that they can grow and start their funtions.
is that enough? lol
oh and yes, some bactera just affect specail species. for exaple some of them just cause deases in cow, some just human.
