I'm sending a regular letter to Israel. Can't get to the post office when it is open. Just not possible and need to know if I need to put more than just one stamp on a regular envelope letter. Thank you!!!

Several said oh yeah extra is required, but I did the calculation and it said it is .39. Which is one stamp. It's vital that it isn't returned so if the site says it's that much is it for sure? Has anyone seen it be wrong?

Post office web site can give you a foreign rate:

http://ircalc.usps.gov/

.84 for a standard envelope one ounce "air mail"

http://ircalc.usps.gov/intl_speed.asp?CID=10211&MailType=envelope&Pounds=0&Ounces=1

I mail stuff all over the country and the world; been using the site for years and never had it wrong; it's the same program the Post Office uses when you take a letter in to get it doner.

Not sure? Call the PO. Tell them you are sending a standard envelope one ounce to Israel

I've sent letters to Peru....ther's extra postage...but not much...try using the post office online to print your own stamp out and dropp off the letter in a box on the way to work.

Yes, extra postage is required but I have no idea how much.
