Make sure you list weaknesses with a positive spin so you don't make yourself look totally undesirable!

So for example you could say, "well one of my weaknesses used to be personal time-management so I went on a course and now think I've probably turned it into a strength because I had to work harder at it".

Or: "I don't like to leave tasks unfinished."

"I don't like to let customers down. If I've promised to deliver then I feel strongly about my reputation and want to keep that promise"

Take a slight moment as if to show you had to think about it- not too long though! Jus a second or two and then give an answer like the first- make it kind of witty but also being serious. Do something like a 'ah.. well... hmmm' and so showing you haven't really got many weaknesses and thus you had to give it thought. Never, I would say, give any of your true weaknesses as of course this will go against you. And don't come out with I don't have any. That just over does it.

Also you could use a function or learning process within the job your going into and say something like 'I find such and such difficult at first but i pick up on things fast and hoping to learn such and such to gain skills'. You know use the job as a basis to your answers.

Good luck.

1) Because of my desire to please others, I sometimes find myself taking on more responsibility than necessary.

2) I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which will cause me to sometimes spend extra time on a project or task than needed.

3) I am a very passionate individual, which in most cases is a positive attribute, but can also become a weakness when I am not careful about how passionate I allow myself to become about a particular idea, project, task, etc.

All 3 of these examples can be good for certain situations...if they actually represent you. I recommend really thinking about how accurate these examples are before using them.

I have interviewed hundreds of people. I think the best response I ever heard was "I prefer not to think of them as weaknesses, but rather unrealized opportunities that I am working to obtain proficiency in"

Truthfully, look at the specifci skills required for the job, pick one that is easily improved on, and say "I am not as skilled at XXXX as I'd like to be, but I am very interested in improving that skill"
