Organized crime is perpetrated outside government and usually involves infitration into local or other law enforcements in order to safely operate. Political crime is perpetrated by either an elected or appointed government official or officials using his or her office to cover said crime. Social control is weakened when other crimes are allowed to develope to help cover the original operation.
