Martin Scorsese's mob epic "The Departed" won best picture at the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 25, 2007. What movie do you think should have won? And why?

I really liked "The Departed." It wasn't a bad choice for best picture...but I was rooting for either The Departed or for Little Miss Sunshine.

I agree with newheart. Letters From Iwo Jima was the best of those nominated. There is a book out about the letters that the film is based on if anyone is interested.

I agree with the academy. It may have been a bit violent for some, but it was the best movie I've seen in the theater in a LONG TIME (followed very closely by Pan's Labyrinth).

The Departed deserved it, although you could make an argument for Babel

I can not answer that honestly becasue the only one I hve seen is Dreamgirls

Of those nominated "Little Miss Sunshine", although "Dreamgirls" should have been there

if i had to choose of the ones nomjnated.... the departed

but since i didnt like any of them,,, Flags of our fathers or Flyboys
