I'm really quiet, but the whole fast-food business is really fast paced and requires that you yell out orders and communicate alot. How can I be more extroverted?

Ahh i remember working in that business. You do have to be loud and firm sometimes when it comes to that never pleasing customer. Pretend you are someone else when you are at work. It could end up being fun until you are more comfortable. The longer you work there the better you will get. Pretend you are that perfect person in the commercials. Polite, sincere and ready to serve. Relax, no one around is really paying attention to what is going on, they just want to know what they need to make and where it goes. Hope this helps. It will get easier over time dont worry! Have a good day and Good luck.

Right now you probably think you would feel funny about yelling things out in the middle of a busy restaurant but you are actually feeling out of place because you don't.

Once you get used to doing it you will feel better because you are doing what every one else is doing.

I work at a large retail store and the first time I had to page someone over the intercom it made me very uncomfortable but I had to do it so I did and now I am very comfortable with it.

your body language says a lot that you don't say.

your posture enhances your enthusiasm and confidence and when your down, it also enhances that. together with your general disposition and your fabulous smile you can be very well liked by all who come in contact with you.

if you are in customer services then you need that extra reserve of energy and enthusiasm for when you meet the occasional grump who will not be pleased, no matter what you do. you cannot let these individuals ruin your entire day.
holler baby!!!!
my good wishes are with you.....good luck.

Okay.... I'd find the loudest, most extroverted person on your shift. I'd tell the problem and ask him/her to make a point of getting you to shout out the orders. He/She will love it .... I can't hear you!!!!! And you will have a lot of fun getting used to hearing your self get louder and stronger.

Now get me those fries!
