Why did nobody ever think of rebuilding power plants and fountains in Bagdad, to show the people that we want to improve their lifes? Why don´t we help the refugees in Iraq´s neighbouring states, to prove that the terrorists are responsible for the bad situation... the UNHCR just ask for 60 millions to improve the living conditions of the refugees. That´s nothing compared to what we actually pay... but this would really improve our security.

If Bush can not "Win the hearts" of the American people - what makes you think he can win the hearts of these folks in Iraq?

Many Iraq people have been without electricity, water, phone service, sewage, etc. since the beginning of this farce of a war against terrorism and all Bush can think of doing is to send more troops to that country to kill them!

Bush's Hero was General George A. Custer - Hero of the Battle of the Little Big Horn!

Bush thinks that if Custer had another regiment or two against the 7,000 Sioux Indians there Custer would have won!!!!!!!!!

for the last five years there has been a massive rebuilding campaign in Iraq and Afghanistan. certain lunatic, psychotic, apocalyptical factions cannot bear to see good coming from the Western societies, and therefore try to kill those who are trying to improve their country by adopting Western goods and values.
we are winning the hearts of most indigenous people in these areas-the apocalyptic terrorist MUST be killed.

Look buddy: If you come in my country, create havoc, kill thousands of my people, create civil wars, ruin and destroy the country, no matter what you do afterwards I'll keep trying to kill you. I’ll even come to your country and do the same. I have nothing to loose anyway since you destroyed them all.
Take a clue: In Iraq, US troops are the only terrorists, all the rest were living a life (as miserable as it was) before US showed up.

The best thing you could do now is to leave them be immediately, and pay for all the damage you caused.

You cannot negotiate with lunatics. You cannot win the hearts of Fanatics. Israel tried negotiating with the extremists and what did it get them. Nothing. You must remove the extremists and then you will be safe.

And they are rebuilding power plants and other useful items. The problem is you are not seeing or hearing those stories on the news.

We cannot get close enough to win the hearts of terrorists who have been bred to hate us, for one thing.

For another thing, we don't really like them.

And lastly, per your details, we ARE rebuilding Iraq, particularly if the terrorists would let us.

To busy listening to rap music to pay attention to the news? It is already being done. The Iraqi people aren't the ones doing the killing. If you want to win the hearts of those that are, well, you would have to commit suicide.

We have been trying to do just since we took over Baghdad. Our soldiers are not the ones killing people and when they do it's because they are being shot at.

Edit: I see some people still have head up a dark hole disease.

The insurgents are the ones doing the killing and you don't "win their hearts". They thrive on death and destruction and the only way to deal with them is to defeat them soundly. KABOOM.
