I have received 2 violations from yesterday for answers I gave that were humorous. Nothing offensive, name-calling, derogatory in nature. Why is that?

Every violation I've gotten was over a humorous answer and always in response to a liberal question. I am neither a liberal nor a conservative. I am a moderate, so I am at odds with as many conservatives as liberals. But, it's seems it is always the liberals who report me for abuse.
Even answering particular responders, as you did, can be reported by some knucklehead as chatting. That has happened to me as well.

I think the whole violations game is ridiculous. Either it is a country of free speech, or it isn't.... I realize that Yahoo is a private organization and, as such, has the right to impose violations. But putting the control in the participants hands...when so many have proven to be wingnuts through their rants...is crazy. If you violate a rule, you are banned. Plain and simple. OR...you let everyone say what they want...on the World Wide Web...

I would like to add, if I may, that I would love to see the forum get to the level that, I think, it originally intended. Intelligent discussion and debate of issues and thought. No mudslinging, no judging...just thought exchange. But I guess no one would find that any fun...

It's amazing how easily offended some people get! I once also posted a joke, and it got deleted. In the Religion & Spirituality section, someone had posted a question asking if babies would talk in heaven. I thought it was meant to be a joke, and I thought that such a facetious question deserved an equally facetious answer, so I answered, "Yeah, and they'll also sing Elvis songs." Some people are WAY too touchy!

I have a problem when they delete the Q or A and inform you that it was a violation of the community guidelines. They should have to inform you of what portion you violated so that you can not make the mistake again.

I don't think there is a problem with humor.

I'm with you! Isn't this activity supposed to be fun? I'm tired of the venom spewed from both questioners and answerer's. A little mutual respect, AND some humor every now and then goes a long way.

That's not funny! I half half a mind to report you! (or, do I just have half a mind? I get so confused)

I've been reported for answers that I thought were funny. Maybe I was kind of a jackass. Who knows?
Just have fun and don't worry too much about it.

Was it community standard violation? Y!A needs to fix that. No reports for anything less than SPAM, name calling, etc...

Because someone was either pissed off and wanted to report somebody, or they thought you deserved it because of your political alignment. It's almost rare nowadays that people actually report somebody for something report-worthy.

Because of the "Christian Right Republicans" Americans can no longer say Dago or Wops for Italians, Pollocks for Polish people, Kites for Jews, ******* for Black or colored people, spics for Mexicans, etc.

And yet they tell us we have Free Speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a gas!!!!!!!!!

Example - look at how many **** Yahoo puts into this message!

What does this tell you!

ROFLMAO!

NO, this site is for serious questions and answers . The repubs can dish it out, but they can't take it so they report you.

You all have fun now.
