How do i as a solicitor qualified for 17 years get back into practise having taken 6 years off to childcare?

I gave up working to stay at home with my two boys and my wife worked. one is now at school,the other at nursery and starting school in a few months.My problem is that I am 46 and have forgotten alot over the years.Advertised jobs all want recent experience ( and probably someone younger)

The Law Society can surely bring you up to date, and there are many openings for qualified lawyers. The practising certificate is the thing!
