I am an herbal student and i use this home remedy for myself and my kids..it gets rid of any sore throat problem including strep in 24 hours.

1 tablespoon pure honey
4 cloves pressed fresh garlic
1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon of ground red (cayenne) pepper (grocery store spice section is fine)

mix it up and take a teaspoon of the mixture every half hour to hour. The honey has anitseptic properties and will make the mixture stick to the troat. Garlic is antibiotic and will kill any germs or viruses on the troat tissue. The cayenne will help increase circulation to the tissue and carry away the germs killed. Cayenne is also a great healer and will speed the healing of any broken tissues. It also has pain reliving properties. This mixture feels like a warm blanket from the inside out. You want it to stick to the throat so dont drink anything just after taking it. And rememver you have to take it ever half hour to hour.

Echinacea capsules are also helpfull for cold and flu problems. take 2 capsules every hour for up to a week if you need to. Drink lots, lots, lots of water hot and orange juice. Also red raspberry leaf tea is a good antiviral.

tyrozets-have antiseptic & antibacterial stuff in them like tunes etc but they have more active ingredients to help as well as combat the soreness the infection too, can get a box of 24 from pharmacy for £2-3. You suck on 1 every 2hours or so- read packaging obv though(don't sue me for mis-informing) LOL :) Also warm up some fresh apple juice and drink it does help. As well try to keep your throat warm, a scarf!

I used to suffer from frequent sore throats, but I have found the solution, for me at least. I suck on the Cold-Eze lozenges during the day, and make sure to suck one RIGHT BEFORE you go to sleep at night. Also, take Airborne several times a day. And then to get rid of the pain, spray your throat with Choraseptic throat spray. It numbs your throat and you don't feel the pain. There you go! Try it and see if it doesn't help. Good luck!

Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

If you're looking for a natural approach, then the homeopathic remedy Kali Bich is known to cure all the symptoms you mentioned above. If it were a simple cold or flu then it should have improved by now.. Go back to your doctor, or try the remedy above.

I'm currently suffering from the same and am treating it mostly with Neo-Citron "Sore throat & Cough" plus the odd lemon and honey mixture, but I prefer the Neo-Citron as I sleep much better with it

honey in hot tea works, and i know it's not alternative medicine, but the liquid nightnurse works a treat if you take it before you go to sleep.

If you're not from the uk I dont know if this will help (and i'm sorry). but honey is a natural cure for practically everything

feel better soon!
