Can frigid weather cause the steering wheel of a car to vibrate a little more than usual?

Also, is it normal for the steering wheel of a compact car to lightly vibrate during driving? I have a little corolla and the steering wheel seems to be vibrating a bit, but it isn't too noticeable. Hoping it's not something that needs repair!!

Check for snow/ice buildup on tires. Chances are it's out of balance slightly.

cold weather causes the tires to become stiff.the part of the tire on the ground, develops a flat spot from setting for some time. when you start off, you feel the spot until the tire loosens up a bit. if it doesn't go away, you have a tire problem. tires cause shaking and vibration problems. And in a lot of cases, pulling or drifting problems also. shaking in the steering wheel is caused by tires or front brakes. If touching the brakes make it worse, you're front rotors are warped and need to be turned or replaced. if pressing the brakes doesn't make the shaking worse, the tires are at fault. Have the tires ballanced. if this doesn't help, replaced them............

sometimes in extreme cold a tire will get a flat spot from sitting. this should go away after a few miles of driving. if not it may be an indication of something serious, worn tie rod ends, ball joints, bad cv joint,. etc. could be just a tire out of balance or a bent rim.

It could be that you need your wheels balancing or your tracking sorted out. Take it to a garage and get them to check.

My mom used to have that happen frequently with her old Grand Am when ice would get up in the tires.
