I found out a few days ago that the guy I'm seeing asked another girl out on a date. We've only been seeing each other for a few weeks, but he told me he wasn't interested in dating anyone else, even when I made it clear that it would be ok as long as he is up front with me about where things are at (and of course that would mean that I take things lighter with him as well). Well he said absolutely not.
Here's the catch - I'm not supposed to know, so I can't confront him on this. The person who told me asked me not to say anything because he is afraid it will cause conflict between them (he is a family member). He showed me proof - the actual date hasn't happened, but he still asked.
Friends say we've only been seeing each other for a few weeks & that I shouldn't take this seriously anyway. Others say go out with other guys, even though I also said I didn't want to date anyone else either. A couple of them say I should just dump him and move on.
What do you say?

who do you believe? the one who told you or your guy?
the date hasn't happened yet.. so dont be too rash on making decisions.. give him the benefit of the doubt...
if he pushes through with the date without telling you.. then your dude is lying..
when that happens dump him.. a guy who can't keep a promise on which he insisted upon isn't worth spending time with..

The thing is what do you feel about him? If you can't believe what he says to you and believ someone else instead, what's the point? Try to see what he wants, where he stands, you can do it, as we can all. No matter what happens though don't ever date someone else, because he may did. Did it cross your mind that his relative that gave you that info could be lying for his own sick reasons? These things happen you know! So talk to him if you see anything different with his manners and behavior. If you find out anything at all that you don't like just leave, it's just a few weeks after all.
Be careful not to hurt yourself or him, by any rush!
