In response to the Discovery Channel running a special about finding the bones of Christ, I put together a powerpoint using pictures of Christ I got off Yahoo image and 2 songs about Christ from a CD that I own. I have given credit to both Yahoo image and the persons who own the songs and even told where they could buy the songs. Is that breaking copyright laws?

In a powerpoint presentation you are only allowed to use 30 second clips from each song and give full credit to the authors. 30 seconds is the max you can do without having to hold a license to use songs.

No harm No Foul...let's not worry ourselves in overkill. Back in the day...this would be great promotion for an artist. I think a few friends would be ok. As long as you didn't distribute to a few million friends, then you now pressed the issue. But technically you are breaking the law by not getting written permission to distribute their copyrighted material.

definite, maximum anybody breaks that regulation in some unspecified time sooner or later.i've got j-walked a pair circumstances, sped approximately ten miles over the decrease, copied entire CD's off of unfastened songs. those are unlawful movements yet there are worse like homicide and shoplifting that i will under no circumstances do!

If you credit the writers/composers and are not making money from it, then yes.
