i think hes going to prove alot of people wrong when he takes over. there is one thing that really annoys me though and thats when people say 'hes scottish and trying to take over the english parliment' people there is no english parliment its a british parliment and scotland is part of britain.
If i could say one thing in his favour its that hes honest or at least seems that way.

Have you seen how much Tax he charges? It's things like the differnce between people that are married with kids and not married with kids, the benefits that are gained by unmarried couples is so vast that most average waged married couples will say they wish they never married, as in some cases the benefits can mean one can be a stay at home parent, but still a family unit.
And if your married and a motorist then your really buggered.
Don't even let me get on to the Affordable housing, cause there ain't any.
I guess it's not just Gordon it's the whole lot that offer honors for a bit of a donation.

Because many of us feel he has lied on taxation and stolen our pensions. He is decieving the younger generation on wealth through debt and has saddled future generations with a huge burden using PFI.

It is not just Brown though he is simply the figure head of a corrupt and dishonest administration that has been shown to be hypocritical about.
Education (no university fees)
Health (Closing wards, sacking nurses and doctors)
Benefits(failure of CSA)
Technology(every computer project over run on costs and not working as intended)
Wars (5 under Blair)
Taxes(Increased exponentially in last 10 years compared with 'officail' inflation)
Economy(manipulated the measurements to make things look better on inflation, employment, exports, national debt)
Personal debt(fooled people into taking on excessive levels of debt)

Crikey.....its fairly obvious that brown is as big a liar as blair. Are you guys walking round with blinkers on?

How much has blair and brown between them ruined this country since they came to power?

How much of your hard earned cash do you actually now get to spend?

How much has improved with crime, prisons, nhs, education, immigration....and the list just goes on and on

How do you think the labour government is funded? (peerage anyone)?

Now.....sit back and have a real good think......why not ONLY Brown isnt liked but the whole of the labour government.

A shambles waiting for a mess to happen......too late, the UK IS in a real mess.

Thanks Labour, you bunch of half wits.

I personally am madly in love with Gordon Brown as I think he's absolutely gorgeous. But I've been told I have odd taste in men.

Simply because he's a blairite through and through and we have all had enough of Blair.
Honest? Stealth taxes aren't honest.
Keeping tax allowances right down ,taxing pension funds and killing off the hopes and dreams of so many people isn't honest.
Pushing up petrol tax yar after year,
Not increasing the inheritance tax to match rising property value isn't honest.
BUT most of all , he voted for the Iraq war...nuff said

I think a lot of people on here don't like him due to ignorance. Some people just can't see past their own narrow minded views so they resort ro either personal abuse, the old tax chestnut (I can't think of another politician who wouldn't tax us at least as much) or try to make out that he has no right to be PM because he's Scottish ( he'll be the UK PM not the English PM so has as much right to the job as anybody else). Personally I think its quite possible that he could become the best Prime Minister we've had in the post war period. He's certainly been the best chancellor.

no person Discredits Ebeeneezer Brooon.. he manages in simple terms advantageous by skill of himself... particular the Tories lost the way with the unpopular ballot Tax.... so the voters have been given shot of them . - the voters could now get shot of recent Labour...for Taxing us to dying. and taking the Britsh people for organic Mugs... Labour have had their wee 10+ years of Glory ...we could have a sparkling sparkling initiate and supply the two the Tories or another occasion some years to make this united states of america smile lower back...

That sneer of his. It reminds me of the way Colonel Sanders looks at that chicken. Never a frown with Gordon Brown.

Well he's the best Chancellor we've had in the modern era who has presided over the strongest and most stable economy we've had since world war 2. Don't know what he'll be like as Prime Minister, but I'm prepared to give him a chance. The best thing he's got going for him really is that he's not Blair or his clone Cameron. He'll have to make some drastic changes if he's going to persuade me to vote Labour again, rather than Green though.

As for why a lot of people on this site don't like him. I think its more to do with the people on here than with Gordon Brown. I've noticed a distinct and unrepresentative right wing bias since I started posting answers here.

Hi! Micheal, For A start he is a communist (New Labour has nothing in common with the old Labour party) secondly his nationality is in present times suspect, putting Gordon into power would in effect change the balance of our constitution and put the Scottish Nationalist Party in an unprecedented position of power through the back door. Just as communism got through the back door with New Labour. Gordon would add a new dimension to Scottish politics. As a chancellor; Gordon's record is not as great as the media would have you believe. One of the first things he did when he got into power was to impart a tax on pension providers which ended up destroying private pension schemes which left Hundreds of thousands with out a pension. Many lost every penny they put into their pensions leaving them without adequate means in old age and them having to work more years before retiring. Gordon also sold half our Gold Reserves at a conveniently low price. With internationalist speculators making more money than ourselves. As others say he has increased the tax levels to pay and support projects that are nothing to do with this country. It is difficult to trust any Labour politician but Gordon Brown stands out as someone who will continue where the dictatorship of Blair left off, he should not get the chance to become Britains leader at any price.
