thank you for your replies. But it's not a lender over the internet, it's actually one of my patients father. I just wanted to know if anyone has had experience with this? Thanks again in advance.

If you're talking about one of the ones you see sticking ads on Yahoo answers, I'd venture to guess that about 99% of them are scam artists.

How it works is they ask you for a security deposit up front. You give it to them and you never hear from them again and you don't get a loan. You basically just lost your security deposit.

Or, they ask for your bank account numbers so they can wire transfer your loan into your bank account. Then they raid your bank account and take all your money.

Be careful who you are dealing with. I'm sure there are some legitimate personal lenders out there. However, if they ask for any money up front as "security", you're probably getting scammed.
