Listen to Sapphire! Eye Dew eye drops will give you amazing results. My mum has been using them since I was little and in the last year, they have become so popular that they are now available on the shelves in Boots and supermarkets (before, they were only available behind the counter). There are two varieties - blue and clear/white. Both are great, but for really amazing white eyes, you need the clear/white ones. They cost under £5 but they'll work wonders for you.

An easy way to reduce the redness is to scoop cold water into your hands and splash it on your closed eyes. This should be enough to reduce the capillaries. If this isn't enough, mild drops that can be found at your local drug store may be required. Wearing eye makeup can also cause it.
Visine (and other similar products) constricts the blood vesels in the white part of your eye (not the whole eye), serving a cosmetic purpose. While the ingredient will take the redness out, it can also be very irritating, so you may just be compounding your problem by using it. Plain moisture drops, pharmacists say, would ultimately be more effective.

Lay off the booze. Get to an eye doc and see if you need computer glasses. Cut back on the computer/video time. Make sure you are not using any irritants near your eyes ---some mascaras, makeup, dust, chemicals at work that make you rub your eyes unconsciously.

try a detox -
the eye whites are yellow (or cream) when your liver is ineffective. put a day aside to eat only organic vegatables - like grapes and celery and brocoli - and drink drink drink! water is very necessary and pommegranet juice is also a very good antioxident.
eye drops are a quick fix but a healthy liver will change your eye permanently

Eye Dew - eye drops you can buy in Boots. If my eyes are especially sore and red I find that putting a cold wet flannel on them for a while also helps, even sleep with it on if you can.

There are eye drops you can buy from boots for that.
I use them when I don't want to look blatantly stoned. It works! Everyone just thinks I'm a bit dopey.
