Since the 240 jelly beans were distributed equally between 16 plastic eggs, you divide to find a total of 240/16 = 15 jelly beans in each plastic egg. Now we know he found 90 jelly beans and we know that there are 15 jelly beans in each egg. We divide 90/15 = 6 to get the number of plastic eggs that he found.
