Yes, it can be quite an experience. Although I'm 57 now, I went to one show when I was about 14, and still remember much of it- mostly because I was one of a dozen who were hypnotized. It was definitely an odd experience, in that I recall feeling basically 'aware' of what was going on after being 'put under'.. but all seemed semi-dreamlike state. During the time of being under, which I'd guess at about 20Min's., I was one who was told that when I hear a certain sound, I would be a 'roadrunner' (bird) and I would be compelled to quack up and down the aisles... but then, the hypnotist said, "but not any roadrunner, ...a gay one"! That's when I recall the resistance in my mind and body that disallowed such a suggestion. He then said, "so you dont like that?"..I nodded, 'no'. He said, OK, you'll just be a regular roadrunner. By the time he got back to me in the line of those hypnotized, it seemed as though the 'trance' was wearing off...and the musical sound prompted me to start to go up and down the aisles... quietly making a bird sound in a 'half-***' manner. When soon he undid the trance for us all, I had full memory and was a bit confused, still realizing I had kept my dignity- and that under hypnosis; no one really does anything they dint agree with.

I have been a student of hypnosis for many years, A registered/licensed hypnotist for more than 50 years. I have been hypnotized more times than I can count. almost every night when I go to bed. I am asleep in less than 30 seconds. I was a so called "Lab Rat" at the U.of Chicago in the 1950s. When a Dr. Richards developed a method of Induction called Progressive Relaxation.
What you are going to see is stage hypnosis and bears only a little relation to clinical hypnosis. No clinical hypnotist would embarrass a client or subject.
In any type of hypnosis you are the person in control-perhaps for the first time in your life. The hypnotist makes suggestions and gives you instructions on how to get to where you wish to go. It is up to you to do it.. Get some books through the library,Milton Ericson, Leslie La Cronne are the best . Enjoy. and then contact a good hypnotist.. Not too expensive. No buddies or friends. ever under any circumstances.

Its so cool. They ask for volunteers. then put a flashy light thing like one from Spencers gift shop in the middle of the floor and dim the lights. The guy or girl talks in a slow seductive voice for about 7 minutes making you feel sleepy. He tries to get his volunteers to fall under hypnosis. it only works on about 1/2 of the audience. He makes you do very sily things by the power of suggestion. My friend was hypnotized and said he knew what he was being asked ws ridiculous but he couldnt help himself from doing it. The hypnotist wont make you say anything too personal but the questions he asks are free for your mind to ponder..It would be fun with you and some girl friends but I wouldnt sggest beign hyponized with your boyfriend around. One of the things he might suggest is that you are alone in a room smelling your own farts....that can get pretty embarrassing! haha, have fun! Its the funnest show Ive ever been to.

Years ago I went to a hypnosis show, it was hilarious. Just last year I went to a hypnotist to quit smoking. I swear it is like meditation and I don't think I "went under". I didn't smoke until xmas eve when my better half offered me a ciggy. Ive got a CD from the hypnotist, just gotta listen to it to quit again. It's fun.

I never went to a hypnosis show, but this one professinal did try to hypnostized me, but It didn't work as far as I know. because I was aware of everything and only told him what I wanted him to know. but go have fun, and try not to get hypnotized. unless its one on one.

Yes I have, they are very entertaining and funny. I went down to the front, but was one of the rejects as one who couldn't be hypnotised. My girlfriend at the time was hypnotised, the last thing he did was have the people pretend their hands were glued togethor and they were to try to get them apart by any means necessary. The people looked stupified that they couldn't get their hands apart. However when he gave the snap to make the suggestion go away, it didn't work on her. When she got back to her seat she couldn't move her hands apart and she kept tugging at them. I told her just to stop trying watch the show and when she wasn't looking they just came apart. Before I tried to seperate them myself, but she unconsiously was pushing them togethor so hard, I didn't want to hurt her.

If you're a girl, make sure to wear jeans and a sweater......maybe dig out that old sports bra too. I've been to a few College shows and sometimes "things" pop out or get "flashed". Nothing like showing your goods to hundreds of strangers.

If you're a guy, just make sure you've had a few "brown pops".

You generally have to want to be hypnotised for it to work properly. A canadian guy came and did a show at our uni & it was hilarious. He got the people who went under to wear their underwear on their head for the rest of the night.
