I have a project in biology. I need to preserve an animal using formalin. I can't find any glass container that looks good and is not very expensive, so I thought of putting it in a plastic container. Is this alright??? Will the plastic not melt?

Formalin is usually stored in glass containers. I use it in my garden pond to help prevent fin rot on my koi.
I have been to several links and can't find anything that tells how to store it.
The obvious choice should be glass, with a lid. The formaldehyde is not only gaseous but toxic as well so putting it in plastic may not be a good idea.
Good Luck! I hope I was of some help.
