They better, I mean the armed forces is taking thes young men and women on the front lines to die. even if they are just in some distant land like north korea where there is no fighting, at least not in the years to come. It is smart to do so, because family ties or home we give them the spritual support that a human needs after the long day of violence. it will boost their moral, and give them hope of return to their loved ones. If the gov does nt pay for it, then they we become depresed if they did not have the money to make the call. their moral will be down, and they will feel that they are in the middle of no where with not point of return.

No way should they! They are fighting to save their own lives never mind anyone elses and they can't choose where they go they are told. I'd give them as much as they wanted when abroad. They're families are sitting at home waiting to here if they are alive or dead, give the men/women a little to ease the strain of being away from loved ones.
Well Done Guy and Galls for doing this country proud!!!!!

I don't beleive they should. If they are in the american armed forces, then they will have to pay due to all the greed in the government. So long as there is a war going on, I don't feel one dime should come out of the soldiers' pockets. I find it sad that those poor people are risking their lives and they still have to pay for services to maintain their sanity. Thank you and may GOD bless.

Not at all. That is absurd, to think they are over there fighting and serving our country, and they are being forced to pay for mail and phone calls, which are neccesary, to help them keep their sanity? That is absolute crap. Let the government handle the costs; if they stopped spending money in stupid places, they would have ample money to supply our soldiers with this small but fair privelage.

well as a postie i can tell you we did deliver some. and we deliver free to the blind as well. but of course this will all end with the competition hitting costs to royal mail. your right post should be free for all serving soldiers overseas, but i cant see it happening now, our postal service has been decimated under labour, and its only a matter of time before the one price goes anywhere universal service goes to

Mail postage is free, and I believe phone calls when placed from phones on base are free. Not cell phones.
