First thing get rid of limewire. I have had many computers crash from this software.
Go get Azureus. It is a bit torrent downloader.
The go to http://www.TorrentReactor.net
Pick the files you want hit download.
A box will pop up and you hit open not save This will open Azureus for the download.
I know that sounds a little scary but just ask around and everyone will tell you that is the way to go. At least if you are not getting into Newsgroups with a binary reader like agent.
Oh I forgot I seen below where people are telling you to turn off your firewall and you antivirus.
If you have to turn these off to get the file then chances are you don't want the file
NEVER turn off your firewall or antivirus and leave your computer open for invasion!
Obviously there isn't a problem with your connection or you would not have been able to ask this question on here.
being that it requires and internet connection to post.
And if all that does not sound good then,
Go to your start button click on the run box and type in ipconfig the screen will flash a black box and reconfigure your ip address. This is what limewire blocks and most likley the reason you are getting blocked.
I build and program/Repair computers just incase anyone wonders why I am so against limewire.
Bad track history with repairs

Look....Limewire tells you that when you try to search things without being connected on the Net at the same time.
Firstly "activate"your Internet access and then open Limewire and...have fun!

I'm guessing it might be your connection to the internet itself. I've had a few problems with Limewire also lately.

It's not limewire thats the issue, its your pc/laptop, check that the Internet line is fixed in place securely, or try and open the internet, at least that way you know for sure that the net connection is the problem.
The wire should be white, and if your on wireless, I would check your hub.

Top left-hand box. Click on File, then 'connect' on the drop-down menu.
If this works ok then try Tools/Connect, and click on 'connect on startup'. Self-explanitory.
The red bars at the bottom left of the screen should turn green (or blue) when you have a good connection.
But if that doesn't work, you should check your Internet connections. Disconnect, then reconnect.
Good luck.
