This sounds like dissociative disorder. You "dissociate" yourself from what's going on, like watching someone in a film. There's a feeling of "this isn't really happening." It can be caused by long-term stress, such as an abusive home etc. You distance yourself from events *so that* you don't have to feel. The emotions are too powerful so you sort of switch off and step back from what's going on.
I suggest you talk to a psychologist or counsellor about this. You could have serious traumas that you have buried or are avoiding in your current life. Please get some help as you could end up distancing yourself from everyone around you and not having satisfying, fulfilling relationships.

Just curious, do you feel so energetic other times? If you do this could be very much manic-depressive syndrome. I would not say you are in depression, because depression does not come and go. People who have manic-depression could be very happy, energetic for 3 weeks then feel so down fo 2 weeks. There is no pattern to it but if that is the case I suggest you see a doctor.
If you are not experiencing the second part, you could be just feeling down some times due to changes that goes on your life. Do you have a good emotional support circle. It is very important to let these feelings out, even if it is not a doctor. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Could be you are depressed and those 'trance type' of feelings are your way of dealing with it. I have had similar feelings with a lot of vague sadness as well. Speak to a doctor soon as you don't need to deal with this on your own. If it is the same as I had then you can get help and start to live again. You will feel as if you have just wakened up and then really start to live. I felt as if I had 'lost' the first part of my life but with treatment I can enjoy each day and thank God for giving me that.
Take care and God Bless.

Are you maybe caught up in your work? Sometimes if you are a workaholic you can only concentrate on your work and the rest of the world seems insignificant.
Or have you gone through a recent heartrbeak? If you feel too let down or your hope destroyed, you might get to thinking that there is no love left in the world and you let that darkness overcome you. If that is the case, don't go for it. There are people who love and care for you and also feel that you are deeply important to them.

Considering you are fully aware of what is wrong with you and you know you are feeling you have detached from reality and nothing feels real to you,you must be someone really very clever.
I am sure everything will be ok for you soon.

sounds like you experience ' disossociation' you detach from reality, but not completly like ' psychosis'. you feel detachment when you go out, but your reality is still in check. this is whats called ' de realisation' and is a symptom of anxiety disorders. derealisation is a symptom felt when experiencing ' disossociation'. so dont worry your not going crazy. you just need to maybe talk with a therapist, and maybe be put on anti depressants if you feel the need. there is a link about this below. tkcre
