LOL means Laughing Out Loudly , Its an abrevation or a short form , I dont think its an insult or an abuse when a person uses that word LOL.

"lol" means laugh out loud. sometimes ppl put it to mean that they're laughing, but most of the time ppl put lol because they have nothing better to say. sometimes if i'm talking to someone and they're just going on and on i put lol because i don't want to be mean but i really don't want to say anything either...so by putting lol it makes them think i'm actually paying attention.

I think people put lol because they have nothing else to say so they just laugh

"lol" means "laughing out loud" -- if someone is saying this to every single answer, they are just abusing the phrase.

when i asked my pals why they keep writing LOL in their emails, they said it means 'laugh out loud.' but it didnt make sense since some emails they send are really tragic or sad... and why would i want to LOL to that????
