I want to own a resort where people can "get in touch with nature" I was thinking of either minoring in Biology or conservation.
Thank you for your help!

Definitely major in business!!

No contest....
You can *hire* the people who major in hospitality management.
If you want to own it, the more you learn about business the more chance you have for success.

I also would not recommend a minor in either of those subjects, as they will take away from your primary focus which should be business.

Take a few classes in biology, botany, or conservation as electives, but don't waste the concentration on business by "minoring" in fields so unrelated.... Yes, you may want to own a resort which has conservation as a real theme, but don't lose your main focus toward your degree while in college. Business will get you all the other things you desire. Remember, if you *own* the resort, you can hire the best conservationists to help you plan, design and execute any venue you can dream of!

Like the person above, I also recommend going for a post-graduate MBA.

Some schools offer both programs as a double major where there are joint classes that satisfy both areas. You focus on core classes of both areas and you probably would end up taking an extra year of school if you keep light loads. As for the minor of biology, I would take some general education courses that are geared towards that area such as general biology, general science courses, nothing a biology major would take since they are in for the long haul. When I was a business major in college, I took a biology course that was worth 5 hours of credit and really enjoyed it. It all depends on your taste.

Also, you may want to ask an advisor of the business program their perspective as well as available options they school may have for you. Each school is different and options are numerous and the advisor can help you out but only if you tell them what you would like to do.

Hope this helps.

Definitely business. You can learn all you want about conservation, hospitality management, and nature on the side. But you must keep in mind you'll be running a business and you must know how. One of the biggest mistakes people make is that they follow their dream of starting a business but have no idea how to keep it going.

I would major in business, because you can take that anywhere. Just in case your dreams change.

BS in hospitality and an MBA. That's the ticket.
