I have joined this beginners' Latin dancing class, and there are much more females than males, so initially I was sharing this male classmate with two other elderly ladies - until they gave up and decided to dance with each other as partners. I was thinking it'd be much more fun to learn to dance with a male friend...

would you think it's likely that if I ask a single male friend if they want to come dance with me, that they would get the wrong idea? how should I put it?

would be particularly interested to hear from single males.

I am a professional dance teacher and have seen this go in ever direction. It's all in how you ask. I've had many female students who would bring in 5 guys to every guest party (or regular party) with NO misunderstandings. And some who get it all the time! Be nice to this/these guys and let them know in some way that you are thinking of invited other friends of yours that are male. Leave him NO room for misunderstanding and you will never have a problem. It's all up to YOU!

When I was in college, a close woman I knew asked me to join her ballroom dancing class. The teacher made us switch partners for every dance. We first learned the foxtrot and I got to dance with my friend. But for the waltz and tango we had to dance with others. It was certainly nice to have a variety. It made my friend feel more comfortable in our friendship because she didn't want to be romantic with me. I enjoyed it because I got to meet other women that I wouldn't otherwise meet.

To answer your question, no i don't see a problem with it.

Have fun !!

G-d bless !!

What if taking a dancing class got you interested in him?

Who knows what will happen, when you spend time with someone SOMETIMES feelings begin, other times nothing!

SO, what if he says no because he thinks you have the wrong idea?
