Not sure if you would accurately call it a remake, but filming was completed in November for a film titled "Death Sentence" written by the same guy who did Death Wish..& the sequels.
"Death Sentence" stars Kevin Bacon , as well as John Goodman & Angelina Jolie. No release date has been set so far.

There is a movie called Death Sentence coming out this year that is based on a book of the same name. The author Brian Garfield also wrote the book Death Wish and the plots are quite similar. I don't know if the book was meant to be a sequel or a stand alone story. The new film stars Kevin Bacon. Not exactly a remake but pretty close.

Sad to say Sylvestor Styllone is looking to remake "Death Wish."
