Keep your hand under cold running water for at least 10 minutes. It will seem longer, but it will take the burning sensation away. Don't cover the burn.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

you have to keep it in cold water for a long time - ten minutes or so. Put a few ice cubes in a big bowl, not too many, freezing cold will damage more, but put enough to make it really cold. Then soak your hand for ten minutes. it is still burning. Run it under cold water from the tap till the bowl is ready.

You need to immediately put your hand in cold running water and keep it there for a minimum of 20 minutes.
The water keeps burning your skin and will continue to do so as long as it is left untreated.

You may have second- or third-degree burns, and those require treatment by a doctor, so I encourage you to go to the emergency room or an urgent care facility. They can assess your injuries and get you started towards feeling better.
One note: It's a relatively good sign that you're feeling the pain because that means your nerve endings haven't been seared. Sometimes burns are so bad that people can't even feel pain in the areas.

Put ice and water in a bowl and put your hand in it. You may have to keep it in there an hour or so. When you take your hand out if it starts burning again put it back in until it stops. Good luck, I know that really hurts!!
