It's been ten years now since the publication of book two in the Exiles trilogy. I know Melanie has had her problems but she has managed to write several other books in the meantime. I also heard that she is signing a new contract with another publisher. Isn't it about time she finished "The Captals Tower?"

p.s. I loved all six of the "Dragon Prince" / "Dragon Star" books.

Goodness yes its driving me MAD - every time I check her website there is no date and I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

Please can she hurry up and finish it already. I mean the cliff hanger at the end of the second was terrible.

We should start a petition and send it to Ms Rawn

The Dragon Prince/Dragon Star book were excellent I agree. I hope whatever problems she's having getting the last of the trilogy out end soon as I'm also going crazy with the wait.

It's quite possible her publisher won't give the go-ahead for the new book. I know a lot of authors have sequels to existing books in the wings, but if the original publisher says "No", the chances of another publisher taking on an "orphaned" sequel are not good.

As a general rule, I don't read series books until they are all published for this reason. It drives me crazy. Plus, I forget most of what happened in the early books (I am a voracious reader with a bad memory), and have to re-read them, which is a waste of time, mostly.

I made an exception for Harry Potter. I'll have to re-read them starting soon to be ready for the last book.

yes, I too want to know what happens next - I did like her latest but we need to know about the final book in the trilogy - I hadn't realised it was 10 years though!!!. Robin Mckinley is another slow writer but I see there is a new one up on her homepage, due out in September
