If the world wants love and peace so much, why is Ghost Rider doing so well in theaters?

Movies are fantasy. You go to see them in order to 'escape' the reality of the Bin Ladens and all. If you want to see reality, then watch the news. The only thing a movie must accomplish (for us movie-goers) is it must take us out of this reality and put us in its own reality. Or why bother watching? No one is forcing you to watch an entertaining movie instead of a harsh reality. You make that choice yourself. For an hour and a half, we can be taken to any place, any time and into any situation, without fear of consiquence. That's movie magic! Relax your mind with a mindless movie and then you can better understand, comprehend and manage the 'bad things' in this world. :-)

Horror movies provide a cathartic release of pent up emotions and frustrations, this is one of the reasons they're so popular.

When people stop spending money on tickets to movies such as "Ghost Rider", Hollywood will stop spending money on producing them.
