El Nino is a long term event that stays in effect a long time, months - even years. It effects all weather events. A hurricane is a one-time destructive force that may or may not affect a smaller area, like New Orleans, etc. They both can be destructive, but a hurricane is usually gone in a couple of days

A hurricane as it causes massive destructive of property and loss of lives. Also, El Nino would have no effect on very well equipped countries and it is possible to protect against it while it is virtually impossible to protect oneself from a hurricane.

el nino i think is worst 'coz it's so hot and land becomes dry and the water system has a curfew time, i mean there is a cut-ff time of the water supply in a day

Hurricane. Lived through many of them, lost many houses in them. They screw your entire world up for a good long time. And just when things start getting back to normal, bam another one comes a screws it all up again.
