Has anyone ever felt like this? Really don't want to do the housework but I have to. I know this is a really unimportant question in the big scheme of things, but I REALLY don't want to and yet I HAVE TO. Personal experiences please, no references to other sites, because that will just hold it off even longer!!!!

I agree with Hear To....I put on music and get going....once I get off here!! LOL....I think everyone feels that way because really?,,,,who loves to do housework!!! Or,,my other trick is...since I am such a procrastinator, I wait until almost the last minute before the family comes home and run around like a mad woman, so it looks like I've been cleaning all day!!

well...you are not alone.
We all have a busy schedule....and housework is no fun.
Personal experience...plus experience of working friends....
we all hired housekeepers.
Mine came twice a week...4 hours on Monday, and 4 hours on Friday.
I had a 3 bedroom home, a Den, 2 bathrooms, Kitchen, Living, and Dining room. 1 Adults and 2 teenage boys.
She did not do Laundry, or iron, or clean the windows, but she did everything else.
You have to tell what you like done in those 4 hours.
I don't know where you live so I cannot tell you what the going rate is in your area.
And please don't clean the house before she gets there. I have...we all did....
She was trustworthy and I recommended her to other friends.

We loved her.
I hope that helps.

Well here is how I get my work done . First I pick a room to work in . I set my alarm clock for 15 min´s and see how much I can do in this time. when the clock goes off I either stop or carry on. then if I think I have had enough for the day I stop . So you can try . When you work in the room , don´t waste time taking things back to there rightful places , leave the things outside the room you are working on . You think that 15 min´s is not much , but when you work against the clock to see how much you can do trust me you will be surprised. Remember always reward yourself when you have or even have´t finished the room with a nice cup of tea and a quick look at your favorite magazine .Come back and tell us how you did

Make a chore list for yourself and do a couple a day until you have finished the list. You'll feel like you accomplished something that day. I have other things I would rather do also but I know I have to do something everyday around the house. Sometimes I just go on a bender and clean all day long and then I just have to do the daily things such as the dishwasher or a load of laundry for the rest of the week.

There is several things you can do.
1. Get a friend to come help you do your house, then go help do your friends house.
2. Buy an inexpensive radio, the kind that uses headphones. Put it on a station you like and go about your work. You will get your work done and enjoy the music and it won't seem so bad.
3. Everything in life is about attitude. If you dwell on the "bad" things you have to do then you'll be a negative person. Just get up and get going... change your attitude by saying, "awe, this isn't so bad, I'll be done in no time."

I help my wife with the dishes, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, cooking and any every day chore she does. It's more time for us together if I help with the work... Remember there is no "woman's" work, just work. Everyone should pitch in and get it done.

I'm going thru the exact same feelings right now!! I think it might just be the time of the year?? I always feels SO much better after my house is spotless, but I just can't seem to get up and do it all. (Nobody else lifts a finger around here) What I've been "trying" to do is~ just get a couple of things accomplished everyday..and I have to MAKE myself do that! Once you DO get started, one thing usually leads to another, so I feel a little better knowing I've done something:) Of course, then I usually get involved in doing things that nobody will notice except me..LOL What discourages me the most is, that WHEN I do get it all nice & clean, either my lazy husband, or the kids breeze through, and you can't even tell that I've done a damn thing:((((
Good Luck to you, You are not alone!!LOL

Yes, I feel like that alot. The children leave for school, husband leaves for work and I feel like jumping back into bed and not bothering. What i do now is as soon as everyone leaves, about 08:30, I get all the housework done as soon as possible and I'm usually finished before lunchtime and then jump onto the computer to answer some questions like this!!!

Instead of using the "same old products", make a trip to the supermarket or local Dollar type store. Buy a different spray cleaner/polish. Buy a packet of vacuum cleaner bag fresheners or "bath salts". Put them in a new vacuum cleaning bag. I think there is "something" to aroma therapy. Especially when you have to clean! While you are at the store, pick up an inexpensive bunch of fresh cut flowers (most supermarkets have them). Prep them and have them ready to set out on the table, in the bathroom, bedroom, etc. Gives me incentive.

And you are only coming to this realization now? I battle with this everyday. Housework is never ending, the washing, the dishes, the floors I always have to do it and I never want to. I might get in the cleaing mood once every blue moon but thats about it.

I try to think its good exercise

The worst part about housework is the monotony. I love listening to audio books while I clean. Listening to a good story keeps my mind busy and cleaning keeps my hands busy...it works great!
