I was wondering if anyone has drilled for a water well? How many feet is it? How many feet was it when you hit water? How much did it cost? How long did it take?

depends where you are... it could hit water in 2 feet... it might go 500 ft and still come up dry.

Cost is usually per ft with a minimum charge for setting up the drill and for the wellhead they will put in.

Call local well drilling companies and ask.

It all depends on the depth of the aquafer. In Florida, I could dig a 2 foot deep hole and it would fill with water but for a well, I had to go 110 feet. Cost was based on a standard of 100 feet for $1400.00 and included the pressure tank and piping. Each additional foot required to reach water was $10.00. This was a 4" well casing. Depending on how "good" of water quality you want/need, you may have to keep drilling after you initially hit water. My neighbor who was a couple 1000 feet away, had to drill 250 feet to get drinkable water.

firstly, you need to ascertain the depth of the underground water in your area. Check with your local council, and neighbours.
