my lifelong buddies are very much gone...one is in the city and doesn't call. his brother is off doing christian work in a poor country. so that's the first wave gone.

the second wave is my 3 strong group of friends, which in recent times is starting to go their separate ways, one is in a serious relationship and doesn't have a lot of time for us anymore, another is getting a house somewhere far and the third guy is doomed to stay in a pub the rest of his life, i don't fancy doing that so i have also decided to "move on" too.

so that just leaves me to start a whole new group of friends again. i hate it when this happens, getting older sucks slightly.

did anyone else have to go through multiple changes as i did??

Everyone goes thru this phase. And i am sure you will soon be busy in something or the other very soon. These are just the phases of life and don't take them too seriously. The only gud way is to keep yourself busy in doing things you love. Start going inwards and live your life. The more content you become within yourself as a person, the more crowds of people you will attract. Start depending on yourself - everythin about YOU - love urself.....and then see the difference...

Yes, I guess that is part of life and getting a bit older. I have lost touch with most of my good friends as we have all gone on with our own lives and people have moved away, started families, etc. When I was in the Air Force, I had a group of great friends and I never thought we'd lose contact with each other, but everyone ended up in different parts of the world. Change is never easy, I don't think and it takes some getting used to. Do your part to keep in touch with some of your friends who are still close by. Just because our lives change, doesn't mean we can't still be friends and get together occassionally. Yep, getting older and facing all the changes is kind of tough. The good thing is it happens to all of us, so you are not alone in this.

Yes. Everybody goes through changes....it's pretty much the only constant in our lives.

I've lost contact with all of my old friends, then made new ones along the way, but my biggest change ever was when I left my native country to come live in the States.

As the line in a Willy Nelson song goes, "Some days are diamonds, some days are gold, sometimes the sad times won't leave me alone."

This is how it goes, but change; regardless of whether we embrace it or not, is still a very enriching experience and I believe it helps to strengthen our character and makes us better people.
