Oh GOD. If you're going to have the baby then what can they do? Just tell it like it is, and say you're sorry if they're disappointed but you're excited about it, your man is serious about you and that's about all there is.... It WOULD cheer them up some, if you actually had a plan for the next few years, ie: how you're going to juggle (school) and work and baby, how you intend to deal should your man leave you in the lurch, what plans you have for making this work out without relying on them too much... although once the baby gets here, they won't be able to get enough of it, I'm sure!!!

Just be honest with them. That's the key. My mom knew I was pregnant even before I got to tell her. That doesn't happen with everyone though. My parents were very angry in the beginning, but they came around. They are extremely supportive and helpful now and are getting so excited about being grandparents.
Just don't hide anything. Tell them this is what you want and if they love you they will respect that. :)

I think the best way is to sit them down together with your partner & just tell them or you could go out & buy a Grandparents brag book, wrap it up nicely & the both of you present it to them with possibly a copy of your first ultrasound scan.

Lets face it, a pregnancy is not going to be easy to hide for long.

A similar thing happened to me years ago, I was with my partner & we had planned our baby, it just happened sooner than expected. We also had no intention of marriage & I was nervous about telling my folks so I wrote to them giving them the news - within a week I received a parcel full of baby stuff & a "we are so excited letter" in return.

Good luck & don't stress :-)

You have to just be honest! The best thing is to go in and get it over with. After you are already pregnant, there's not a whole lot that anyone can do about it. If you are young, then yes, they will probably be upset, but it fades as they see your belly growing, and they will love your baby almost as much as you will :) good luck!

Be an adult about it and tell them. Not sure how old you are, (if you are over 18, bring the guy with you when you tell them)but you need to tell them what your plans are and you may have to wait a couple days till they adjust to the news.

If you are settled and happy then I'm sure your parents will be happy for you. Good luck with it. Just enjoy being pregnant and enjoy being a Mum.

My friend's sister announced one day that she was "moving out, getting married, and having a baby." My friend was thinking, "yeah. someday." But the sister meant "at that particular time."
