The status tells me it is disabled and I looked at an area that shows a list of the times that have scanned and at the end of the area that was scanned it shows scan failed I have uninstalled the software twice and installed it and get the same result it showes me everything is okay but when I go to edit settings thats where it shows me it is turned off How bad is this I also received a message that said SpySubtract has been damaged What should I do If I Buy A New Computer how Would I go about knowing once I hook it up it wont get infected

You could have mentioned the name of the Software here .
Download this program and run it.
AdvancedWindowsCare2 Personal ( free) from http://www.iobit.com
Exit all programs showing in your taskbar.
Start /Control Panel/Add remove Programs
Select Spysubtract and uninstall it.
Select Windows components
Delete the EMAIL ( Outlook Express) which is corrupt.
If you try to remove OE you MAY GET AN OPTION TO REPAIR IT.. After deleting it try to re install it.
If still not working , download Antivirus and anti spy free programs from www.grisoft.com.
Run both.
