Yep, I did one time when I was about 19. It was pouring down rain at night, and I felt bad that the person was walking in it. I live in a small town where "nothing happens" (rarely), so I felt safe. We were a few miles up the road when he told me that I shouldn't pick up hitchers because they could be so dangerous and something terrible could happen to me. Ugh. I took him the rest of the way to his house, and never picked up another hitcher. That was my first and last time.

Yes, I did it one time and all he did was gripe and moan. I was thinking "maybe he should just be let out and allowed to walk around in the bitter cold weather instead?"
But I tried to do the right thing and gave his whiny behind a ride to where he needed to go.
