I too started in printing, Model 31 Linotype, just before "cold type" (vs. hot type). I went back to school in my middle-age in the 90s to get my IT BS and then the big wave of outsourcing of those portable jobs. I tried to get back into printing as a graphic artist (fancy name for typesetter) but that job description is cluttered with either (a) a total ignorant that advanced from job loyalty or (b) a network/engineer/supervisor. Don't know what to tell you. Look through the papers and most IT will say "with 2+ years OJE". I'm inclined to buy some old letterpress equipment if customers are paying $1.50 a card or LH. My short answer if you can do advertising tie your efforts with SAP with that.
