There are wealthy & poor people around the world, the Irish work hard just as any other nations , its not like they ever been poor the way ur asked the Question, yes there was a famine centuries ago but it was NO fault of their own, but to be where they are now is some acheivement, they are the only Cetlic nation today who are independent, unlike some other nations who had to mix and get other people's ideas to progress their nation, so i say not only the luck of the Irish but dedication, commitment, courage, passion of the IRISH.

It's the bloody EU distorting the marketplace as it always has
I wish the Irish all the best but it is a false economy because of the handouts that come from other taxpayers in the cartel
including Britain. Would they have done it on their own? Never!
