we are being told what to wear, what to eat, how to dress, what cars to drive? And do you feel intimidated and pressured to live the way others would have us live out lifes?

i do exactly as i please all the time.as for freedom of choice their is none when it comes to elections,their all bloody rubbish and liars.

The Nanny state is alive and well. We are constantly being told what we should not do, smoke, drink alcohol, take drugs. Eat 5 portions of fruit/veg a day, don't drive too fast or too slow. Don't get too thin or too fat or doctor won't treat you.
Yes, there is always someone telling us what to do and how to do it. It's here to stay for a while at least. Freedom of choice does not mean having a coffee shop with 100 different types of coffee in it. We are all told to get a job/pension/mortgage/spouse/children etc etc. This is not a free society and never will be, if you don't fit the mould, you are an outcast.

Piece of advice - learn to ignore adverts. Once you do that, then you don't feel you are being told anything! I live my life my way - I dress to my tastes, I choose the type of car, I eat what I like! Life is too short to worry about "conforming" - would you rather be the sheep, or the wolf?

You still choose whether or not you listen to what you're being told.
I live my life by my choices and try not to pay too much attention to outside pressures.

Its still your choice. Unless something is enforced by law then you cant use that as an excuse. Peer pressure and societal norms are not really enforced they are followed because people want to follow them and create them.

you are not being told to do the abovementioned stuff. everyone feels pressured at some or other stage in their lives. it is your choice whether you want to be yourself or somebody else.
