i'm just wondering here...but whats it look like? my doc's told me i'm slowly but surely losing mine, n i was kinda wondering where!!! plus...in normal pregnancies does it come out in one big lump or wot? just being nosey really

when i say slowly but surely, i mean its coming away in bits...slowly but surely. so (sadly) i'm not due any day, but May 12th...i wish i were due now! feel like im carrying an elephant around n i SO miss my figure...lol

It is slimy and stretchy, might be a tainted red color (blood) or it could be clear.

Mucus plug is like egg white, sometimes it can be streaked with blood. Are you sure it wasn't discharge that you saw? Pregnant women have more discharge than non-pregnant and this is normal provided it is not green or smelly! Some ladies suffer from thrush alot when pregnant - could this be the problem? Speak to your midwife as doctors not always right re problems in pregnancy!

I've had 4 pregnancies and only once did I see the mucas plug. That was number 4. It was brownish and thick and ya it kinda did come out in a lump...a soft gooey lump. You'll be loosing it when you pee or in your undies. Not everyone is the same. Sounds like you're getting close!! Congrats!!

When I was pregnant and read about the mucous plug, I imagined something semi-solid and sort of plug like. It's actually just a thicker than normal discharge, usually streaked with blood.

your mucus plug is in the end of your cervic's. It prevents objects from intruding into the womb. Not to sound gross, but it basically looks like a big wod of snot. You usually loose it when your getting ready to go into labor, anywhere from 1 week before or (like me) the day your deliver, Hope this helps

I'm so glad you posted this!! I've been looking for this answer too, and I'm 33 weeks. With my daughter, I don't remember seeing it at all, but with this one, it's coming out slowly and little at a time. Good luck and congratulations!!

My cousin lost hers about a day before she went into labor.
She said it looked like phlem with blood on it.
Basically gooey white and red blood.

sometimes it comes out looking like snot or a big clump of mucos some are clear some have a tinged blod in them and some are yellow
