Nosebleeds are sometimes caused by allergies, blood flowing improperly and high elevation.
If your head hurts before a bloody nose then that is because the blood isn't flowing properly.

High blood pressure is a factor but as a child i suffered terrible nosebleeds that were tonsil related , got my tonsils removed and never had a bleed since .

High blood pressure can cause them, stress, reallly dry air, a nose that's been broken can bleed quite easily.

My husband gets particularly undesirable nostril bleeds and it has occurred to him. One time he had one so undesirable that plenty replaced into draining down his throat it choked him and he coughed up blood everywhere. It replaced into scary!
