I shut down the computer last nite and thought it was off. When I woke up this morning, there was a window that said "shutting down will log off the guest user" I don't have guest user account set up.

Is there somewhere to see if someone is accessing my computer via the internet and if so, how to find out who they are and when they are doing it? Also, if they are, how to shut them down. Thx!!!

Hopefully you have a firewall program installed on your computer. Check the documentation (or Helps) for the program and it should show you how to access the security logs. It will list information about any attempts to access your computer from the Internet.

You might be able to get the IP address of the PC that attempted to reach yours. Then contact your ISP with the information. They may be able to track it back to a source. It is a good probability that it is another person on their system.

Make sure that you do NOT have any drives shared out on your computer. This is will limit the amount of damage a novice can do to your computer. Also you should be able to set your firewall to block any future request from the offending IP address.
