If I start a course of Clomid, will it help me conceive as I havent conceived after a year of trying!

The success rate of clomid is about 25%. In a woman who is irregular, the success rates may be a bit higher as they start ovulating regularly on clomid.

A woman who is already regular may have other factors causing her infertility, so clomid may not help.

clomid can thin the lining of your uterus. Taking 1 baby asprin a day until you get a positive test can thicken your lining (of course stop as soon as you get pregnant)

I had a miscarrage from my pregancy off of clomid. Took 3 more rounds and nothing. Took Letrozole and got pregnat the first time! I'm now 16 weeks. It doesn't thin your lining or mess with your cervical mucus like clomid does. I'd ask your dr. about letrozole aka femara if the clomid isn't a success.

hi i'm not sure how far youve got into the whole process yet so firstly you need to go to the dr's and tell him youve been trying for a year then you'll get refered to the gyno who in turn will do loads of tests.

*full blood count and varous other blood tests
*lap and dye test (to cheack your tubes)
*an ovary scan
*sperm test

then depending on what the problem is you probery will get put on clomid the chances are quite high with taking clomid but it's hard to say weather it will work for you or not but i found this

"Ovulation is restored in approximately 80% but will result in pregnancy in only about 35–40% of patients who are given clomiphene" from this website http://www.rbej.com/content/1/1/1

my advice is while your waiting for all the rubbish tests is to get healthy lose weight (if you need to) quit the fags (if you smoke) as it will give it a better chance of working and you'll feel like your doing something postive take care xx

I've been taking Clomid since December 06 and I haven't got pregnant yet.... Be prepared for the side effects if you are going to take it. The hot flashes are the worst. I've been having them every hour on the hour! It also depends what your problem is. Clomid helps to induce ovulation. I ovulate normally but the doctor prescribed it to me to boost my fertility before trying IUI. Hope it all works out for you :)

Many women including my own sister have had success using a supplement of chaste tree berry extract (aka vitex agnus castus), and really you should get on a high potency multivitamin as you may have deficiencies and the body is not meant to concieve when certain vitamins and minerals are not in abundance.

It might do but when I was taking it it didn't work for me.
I was over weight and this might have been a factor in it not working.
I know of two other people who have had it and it didn't work for them - we all have pcos but then again it can work for some with pcos.
Everybody is different
It also depends on the reason why you need to take it .
hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones.
GOOD LUCK

I took clomid for 5 months and it did not help me to conceive however regulated my monthly friend like a charm. My cousin took clomid for only a month and conceived. I guess it all depends on the person. Good luck!

Try having sex two or three days after your period goes off. Do it doggie style!!! That's how I got period.
