whats ur understanding of this quotation? can anyone find me the russian version of it? its written by Chekov :-)

I think I would have to see the rest of the poem to be able to put this part into perspective. I'm guessing that it's trying to say that don't just tell me things will get better because that's what people say...but instead, show me it will get better or show me how to make it better.

The 'broken glass' represents something tragic or indeed something loss. That 'glint' of light', is that which exposes it, allowing it to be witnessed/understood by others. It is no common light such as moonlight and certainly not, as the moon's light is so often referred, a romantic light. It is however, a profound light that can arouse strong pathos.
