I know none of you know me and i know everyone loose weight at different speeds, but i want to loose about 3 stone by october this year, do you think it is possible if i eat more healthy, cut out junk food and go swimming?

October, defiantly. But only if you're in the right state of mind and are very devoted. Exercise is the most important factor with health eating a contributor. Swimming is an excellent form of exercise as it stimulates a variety of muscles and gets you incredibly fit (used to swim for team). So i'm sure you can do it but will have to literally go to the gym alot to lose 3 stone.

I disagree with the comment about swimming above. Running in general is terrible for you knees, esp when carrying weight. A variety of excerise will see you through the plateau as in swim (tones most muscles in the body if done correctly) walk, run. Varety will also keep you interested. Cut down on fatty food but be realistic because if you cut out everything your likely just to binge in a couple of weeks time. Its very achievable, you've given yourself a resonable time frame. Sure you can do it, just think possitive! Remember to make sure you still eat enough though - 3 meals a day, don't ever skip breakfast, or your metabolism will slow right down and you'll loose weight a lot slower! Having a goal is a great motivator, just don't be too hard on yourself if you don't quite make it, but you've got pleanty of time so I'm sure you will! Good luck :) xxx

Swimming is an excellent choice as long as you are putting effort into it, it is kinder to your joints but still gives you an excellent cardio work out. Doing some weight training will help increase muscle mass which will help you burn more calories. It is possible to loose that weight by October.

swimming is like the best exercise you can do. It tones all your muscles and is much easier on your joints compared to something like running. I think you can definitely lose weight-it may not be 3 stone, but your body will look firmer and more toned!

Thats 5.6 lbs a month, i would say quite possible.
definitely eat healthy, cut out on junk food aka processed carbs.No white flour, bakery products etc.If possible avoid bananas too.
Increase ur water intake. reduce salt intake. Avoid sugar totally!
Add jogging/walking to swimming, alternate days.

You will lose weight, but I don't know about losing any stones. If you're carrying around some stones, you should get rid of them, and I'm sure you will lose weight.

Yes as long as you stick to it hun. Kepp yourself motivated and focused, use a focus point to help you. There is deffinately 14lbs in 1 stone hun. Good luck, let us know how you go.

Tip try and have a late or big lunches and having a really light dinner. its best not going to bed with a heavy tummy.

yes you could if you are fully motivated, but remember that you have to increase exercise every 2 weeks to keep losing as you body gets comfortable with exercise.
