i panicked the most with my 4th baby, and it wasnt as bad as i expected, all labours are different, stop worrying, you will b fine, my sister said it was like having a s### , so not all of us feel real bad pain, and if u do it wont last long and youll get your baby in the end, have fun ive done it 4 times, it aint fun, but it sure is special, best of luck

During my first pregnancy i wasn't worried at all about giving birth, i guess because i had never been through it before i didn't know what was going to happen. But now pregnant with second and am 35 weeks along i too am getting a little frantic.
The first birth is best because your not really aware of what's going to happen so you just go along with it.
Really there's nothing to be afraid of because once you do start to get contractions and they get closer and a little stronger you wont be scared because you'll be too focused on breathing through them. It's a very natural thing and you'll be surprised to you well you'll actually handle it when it does begin.
Your stronger than you think and when it's all over the pain or whatever you went through during labor wont matter once you see your little one!! All worth it!!

I recommend reading the book "Birthing from Within" - it sounds cheesy and hippy-dippy, but it is really helpful. It has lots of exercises you can do (ie. draw a picture of yourself giving birth) to help you mentally prepare for giving birth. If you can do "image training" - imagine yourself giving birth and imagine that it is a positive experience - then it will help you to not be scared. Also, the more information you have, the less scared you will be.
Spiritual Midwifery is another book which seems hippy-dippy but it has lots of first-hand accounts of natural births - ie. no pain killers! - and reading all those different people's descriptions of the birth experience can really help you imagine realistically what it will be like.

It is the case of all pregnant women. I am 4 months pregnant and I'm scared about the delivery, it is probably because of other women who keep telling us of their bad and painful experiences.
My sister tells me it is painful but not as painful as some people claim it to be or as they show on some movies. If it were that painful no woman would have had more than one child.

I think it's natural, I have 3 and panicked just as much with the 3rd as i did with the 1st, that feeling went away for me when it came closer to the day of birth knowing I was soon going to have that little bundle of joy in my arms

Everyone likes to tell you labour horror stories while you're pregnant which doesn't help. You'll feel better if you try to relax and just deal with it when it comes.
Then afterwards when you're holding your beautiful baby, you'll say it was worth all of it =D
(After that amnesia sets in and you get pregnant again LOL)

thats normal.... no doubt everyone around you has wanted to share their labour stories with you and people seem to try and outdo themselves on having just the worst labour ever!!
relax sweetie, you are about to do one of the most natural normal amazing things that us women do.
You will have the support of your husband and one thing that is true you quickly forget.
good luck x
