I need an answer for this as soon as possible(better if NOW..hehe..) for our debate. I need facts to back up this topic. Thanks in advance!!=)

Yes. Remeber that they need the most number of votes. They have different campaign strategies. Sometimes their campaigns are directed to the educated, literate voters, while most of the time their campaign strategy is directed to the poor sector of society, and unfortunately there are many of them.
This is like selling a merchandise to the public. The product must be palatable to everyone or at least to the majority of the would be customers.
Unfortunately, there are more voters who can easily be lead and convinced than independent thinking, intelligent voters. Whoever will win will always assert the fact that they were voted by the people. And who are these people? The majority among us who you know what they want.

This brings me to why politicians use celebrities either as comes-on in a political rally or by urging them to run under their banner. They are a sure crowd drawer.

Until such time that people do not gather anymore in a political rally with celebrities attending, can I say that the winning candidates are the reflection of Filipino identity.

Until such time that we have a credible, honest and clean elections that I can say, yes our elected officials are the reflection of our identity.

Nope. It's a reflection of the Filipino stupidity. I'm not saying this to provoke my fellow Filipinos. This is the truth. Most Filipinos vote out of popularity & not of capacity.

Well, to begin with, those who win especially the actors vying for positions take the advantage of the inoncence of the citizens. They use them to make them feel they belong. In the end, they'd win and their winning would simply reflect how stupid some are in voting the wrong person.

Majority of the Filipinos are litirate so voters know whom or what they are voting.

no. not really. cheating happens during elections so the results are not accurate. that's one. aside from that,voters have limited choices from the list of running officers.
