Microsoft do a free spyware removal program. Visit their site and download it from there. I used it and it worked well, until I started working from home and they gave me an all-in-one program to user

Four things will help you in keeping your PC clean .
1.Use a good Anti Spyware like AVG Anti Spyware or Spybot search & Destroy .FREE
2.Use Adware removing programs like Ad-Aware by Lavasoft.FREE
3.Use CCleaner to clean up your PC on regular bases.FREE
4.Use Norton Antivirus 2007 .NOT FREE

Here you can search for free spyware, I recommend downloading 2 different applications, as they will both have different updates and can pick up different threats.
After you have cleaned your machine of spyware, run the check at least once a week. Spyware can open up a hole in your firewall or registry to virus's. This can compromise your machines data.

Personally i think the best spyware remover is AVG Anti spyware (formally known as Ewido) its great !! & free!!

Actually, use windows defender - it will protect you 24/7, and it will remove any remainder spyware or adware...
when you open any files it scans it automatically...(realtime protection)
its free & its by the giants microsoft...

You can download a free antispyware/ virus/trojan version and

It has good downloads to detect and eliminate virus/trojans/spyware
