8cm x ? = 24cubic cm

8 x 3 = 24

3 cm

Volume of a 3d object is given by area of cross section * height
Therefore since the base is 8 cm square,
then
taking height as x

8 * x = 24
x = 24/8
3 cm

height = 3cm , heres why;

volume=height x length x width

length x width ,has been given as 8 square cms.
volume has been given as 24 cubic cms

24 = height x 8

8 times 3 is 24 so..

so height must equal 3cm!
