Has anyone ever thought that we could be the robots of a previous species ! and that they all died off ! ie... if we made robots and eventually died off the robots wud think themselfs as us ! and so on ! wat are your thoughts...

Darren what have you been smoking today?
A robot implies a manufactured (non-biological) machine.
Don't know about you Darren but my carbon based life vessel is definately biological.
You could take the view that we are the product of genetic engineering by a previous species (the result still is biological though, unless you happen to notice any rust on your person!).
You might be interested to buy New Scientist magazine dated 3rd March 2007.
The suggestion is that as modern humans migrated out of Africa, they were confronted with a world already full of other human species
In Europe (Neanderthal), it is now known that the two species inter bred and therefore most indiginous Europeans are hybrid. There is genetic proof now , and this goes some way to explain (some) of the differing characteristics amongst human populations (result of interbreeding between genetically different species).
This was not deliberate engineering but happened nevertheless.
In recent times there were rather distasteful attempts by the Nazis in germany to breed a desirable (to Nazis) race using a (positive) eugenics breeding program.
In Sweden there was also a (negative) eugenics program which lasted for decades, this discouraged "inferior" beings from breeding. An example of this was for some years to offer convicts sterilization as an alternative to go to prison and disabled patients were sterilised as a matter of routine. It is not known if this negative eugenics program had any significant effect on improving the gene pool.
I have no doubt Darren that in the future , somewhere in the world, possibly Asia (due to emerging economic power) genetic engineering will be offered to enhance physical or mental performance.
I believe that genetic engineering will be an unstoppable train and we can't predict where and how far it will go.
Of one thing I am sure, if the human species is to survive millions of years rather than thousands, then genetic engineering will allow future generations to adapt to what we would consider today as an alien environment here on Earth.
A necessary Evil.
If genetic engineering is not a success then your machines will inherit the Earth, if they were to have the benefit of conciousness then they will know that they would be a product of design/engineering.
A machine with conciousness could therefore consider Man to be its creator and therefore its GOD!
To prove the existance of our God/s we need to identify evidence of deliberate genetic engineering rather than evolution, who knows what the future holds.
Religious people think they KNOW the answer, scientists are divided between believers and non believers, who can predict what the future will hold?
It will be a brave new world for sure.

I am a robot, well partialy. I have a remote controll and several electronic components.
The rest of you arent so I will take over the world.
Humans have an evolutianary chain that goes back thousands of years. We where designed by nature and that has been shown through various means.
However if we where do design robots that could think would they then turn on humanity to take control ??
And then alter their history in their memory etc to change the fact we made them. The number of difrent ways forward hold together in the string theory. Everything that can happen will happen but will it happen on the point of the string you exist on.

I am often interested in the possibilities of re-incarnation. I sometimes think we are born with pre-installed programmes. However, as a species and as individuals, we continually evolve and learn. (Though some learn faster from their mistakes than others.)

Robot - a person who acts and responds in a mechanical, routine manner, usually subject to another's will; automaton. Sounds like we are - I do what my wife tells me.
